The Role of the Administrator

The home care administrator is responsible for overall agency management, regulatory compliance, quality of care, and business operations. Most states require specific education, experience, and training.

Common Qualifications

Education

Many states require a bachelor's degree in health administration, nursing, business, or related field. Some accept associate degrees with additional experience. A few have flexible requirements with specific training programs.

Experience

Typically 1-3 years of supervisory or management experience in healthcare. Home care-specific experience may be preferred. Clinical experience may count in some states.
